CHAPMAN, JOHN JAY. Memories of Paul Fuller. N.p: N.d. 1st ed. 8vo. 9 pp. Printed wrappers. $125.00
Presumably published at the time of Paul Fuller's death, in 1917. Not listed by any of the bibliographies, although Howe makes a passing mention, quoting: "I can never find out whether it is possible to be a good Catholic and yet not want to build up the Catholic Church at the expense of private judgment." Like the memorial of Isaac Klein three years later, essentially a fond and tender piece made into a work of significance by Chapman's tough-mindedness. Fuller and Chapman were active together in political reform around 1900. |
