BAL 3838. Spiller & Blackburn, p. 53. Published Nov. 30, 1827, three days after the Paris edition (in English), but preceding the Philadelphia issue by about a month. One of the more successful of Cooper's nautical tales, notable especially for its narrative of a great storm, The Red Rover "has always held a place among the more favored of his novels"-Cambridge History of American Literature. |
