Original printed and pictorial wraps, spine skillfully renewed. With title being verso of front wrap, plus 4 blank pages. Text pages each with a large wood engraving colored by an amateurish hand. Wrappers and text somewhat dust-soiled with a few tiny marginal chips. About good, entirely sound. $250.00

 

    Inscription at top of title, a presentation to a youth from his grandfather dated 1853. Back wrapper comprises an ad for 13 titles, including the present title and The New Mother Goose and the Golden Eggs, in Grandpa Easy's New and Original Pictorial Books series. WorldCat records 2 copies of Lady Golightly: in the Osborne Collection at Toronto Public Library; and at the University of Houston. These copies are dated "1845" and "[1845?]", respectively. A third copy in WorldCat, at Oxford, appears to be microfiche; this, the only copy in COPAC, is dated "not after 1855" based on Brown's London Publishers and Printers, c. 1800-1870.
