Front cover: “This tax bill is to be Collected and paid to the Several treasurers of follows Viz. To the State treasurer 356.67, To the town treasurer 3111.43, To the County Tresurer 129.90 (total) $3598.” Names are listed in alphabetical order followed by tax owed for polls, real estate and personal estate. Page 1 list John Q. Adams who owed $21.60 on his land. Page 14 begins a list of non-residents who owned in Quincy and owed taxes. These non-residents lived in Boston, Braintree, Randolph, Dorcester, Stoughton, etc. Valuable document which includes famous residents of this historically important town. |
