A verse broadside accompaniment to the broadside, "A Representation of Governor Wall Ordering Serjeant B. Armstrong, Without a Trial, to be tied to a gun, at Coree, in Africa, and inhumanly flogged by Black Slaves..." also published by Davenport, in 1802. Sarcastric verse on the painful hanging death of Gov. Wall: "....Like a dog then they ty'd, with a halter appli'd,/ To my neck, e'er the scaffold did fall! O;/ Then in great agitation, and strange titilation,/ Suspended hung Governor Wall O!/ O then poor Governor Wall O,/ So choak'd cou'd say nothing at all O,/ Till a chap at a beck,/ Pull'd my legs, broke the neck/ Of unfortunate Governor Wall O!" |
