Howes B 809. Sabin 8243. Joseph Doan (or Doane) and his seven sons were Loyalists of Bucks County who had their property confiscated and sold. They threw in their lot with the tories turned to predatory war against their neighbors, often acting as spies for the British army. A reward of 300 pounds was offered for each.
