Shoemaker 8163. First issued in England in 1821; a second part was issued in England in 1823, but apparently never published in the U.S. This is only the fourth volume of Russian literature to appear in English (the first was 1793). This is the first to be published in the United States (Russian Literature in English Translation, p. 60).
