And I am deeply annoyed to find the last issue of "Through the Looking-Glass," consisting of the Sixtieth Thousand, has been put on sale without it being noticed that most of the pictures have failed so much, in the printing, to make the book not worth buying..."

Williams and Madan 219: "It is an ordinary composition enough, but interesting on account of its rarity, and also because it so finely illustrates the character of Lewis Carroll..." The reference is to Sylvie and Bruno Concluded.
