(CARRIER'S ADDRESS.). The Original For 1837. Dedicated to the good citizens of New-Port, by their obedient and humble servant, Pieraizanghsikghi Bohgamjavouleniskogghe, K.D.G., graduate of T.N.P.S.A.P.C.O.R.S. [Caption title.] Broadside, 20" x 15", rebacked, a few letters lacking at two old folds. Occasional spots of browning. N.p: [1837]. . $200.00

99 four-line stanzas of verse, in four columns, within an attractive "Grecian" border. Review of the past year's events, replete with local incident, but with the locality not determined, possibly Newport, R.I. There are references to "Dupont's Powder Mill," Townsend's Hotel, the Thames Art Gallery, and several restaurants-"Vose's," "Goffs" and "Stacy's." Objects to cotton mills "of Extra size" as "Promoters of Oppression." A military corp departed for Texas, but returned almost immediately. Not in the usual format of a carrier's address, apparently published late, after New Year's Day, because "Our Patent Spring Napier Steam Press,/ By bad luck burst its boiler." Not in the Imprints Survey. Not in NUC. Not in Sabin.
