(CIVIL WAR SHEET MUSIC). (DAVIS, JEFFERSON). TOULIN, ALFRED F. Most Respectfully Dedicated to President Jefferson Davis. Confederacy March. [Caption title]. (With large oval lithograph from a photograph of Davis, by E. Sachs & Co. Baltimore, [Md.]: George Willig, [1861]. Folio. 5 pp. of musical score (no words). Wrapper title in red & black. A spectacular example of the strong pro-Confederate sentiment in Baltimore, this piano march glorifying Jefferson Davis, with wonderful pictorial wrappers which contain title near the bottom of the leaf, above which, in the center, is the large image in colors of the Confederate flag. Likely published in the period between Davis' election and the outbreak of hostilities in the spring of 1861.

The titlepage contains a large lithographic portrait of Davis. The music was written by Alfred F. Toulmin of the Patapsco Institute in Ellicott City, Maryland. OCLC locates only three copies, at the University of Alabama, Duke, and the Library of Virginia. Rare, and a wonderful example of pro-Confederate sentiment in Maryland. OCLC 19550242.
