Dr. William P. Wentworth was a homoeopathic physician practicing in the Lee, Massachusetts area. He was born in Hinsdale, Mass., in 1858, of Milo Milton and Eliza (Parrish) Wentworth. This book is an exhaustive accounting of his personal expenses, for food, rent, and everyday essentials. It includes receipts for subscriptions to “The Chironian”, published by the New York Homoeopathic Medical College and Hospital as well as a list of officers and members of the Homoeopathic Medical Society of Western Massachusetts 1911-1912. Also included is a personal note signed by Erdix T. Smith, MD inviting the doctor to attend a meeting in Springfield. A typical entry for January, 1897 includes expenses for Sun Printing Co., Mrs. Richmond, sugar, feed, postage, Mrs. Eliza Smith, G.T. Gilmore, sausage and pork, coffee, horse bit, crackers and fish, etc. Many names of local merchants and townspeople are included in the accounts.
