[ANON.]. Valpurgis; or, the Devil's Festival. In Two Cantos. The Ball and Drawing Room. London: William Kidd, 1831. 1st ed. 16mo. 35 pp. Two plates, wrappers & text illustrations by Robert Seymour. Orig. pict. wraps, bound into modern cloth with two collectors' bookplates. Very nice. $325.00

Preface signed with the initials "H.W.P," presumably the editor. Briefly the illustrator of work by Charles Dickens, Seymour committed suicide in 1836 at the age of about 35. The poem is close to libelous of real London figures, including Kidd's publishing rival, the radical Richard Carlile. Rare.
