S & S 47000, recording only the copy at the Mass. Historical Society. The most prominent student, in the senior class, was Orville Dewey. The faculty consisted only of Ebenezer Porter, Leonard Woods and Moses Stuart, with four resident licentiates, with 99 students in the junior, middle and senior classes; junior with 41 to only 22 seniors. A period when Andover was beginning to become enormously influential, chiefly due to Moses Stuart. Until his time, biblical studies were quite neglected, and the study of Hebrew non-existent.
