(WISCONSIN). "View of Southport, Wisconsin, October 1844." Folio sized letterhead, with large water view length-wise at top. Used for a letter and well filled, dated "Wis. Territory, Dec. 28, 1844." Used as a self-mailer. [Southport?, Wisconsin]: 1844. Some wear at endges, small hole in center of letter, fold thru view, but the view, 5" x 15," is in excellent condition. $500.00

An extraordinary letterhead, with a marvelous engraved waterview of Southport, signed in type by R.N. White. Five sailing vessels, most with steam) are in the foreground, the buildings of Southport in the background. Hamilton lists numerous works to which White contributed illustrations.
