    Early & Fine Association

WYLIE, ELINOR. Nets to Catch the Wind. New York: Harcourt, Brace and Company, 1921. 1st ed. 12mo. 47 pp. Orig. two-toned brown cloth. Offsetting from paper on title, otherwise a fine copy. $1,000.00

BAL 23484. First printing on unwatermarked paper of Wylie's first published work, which was an immediate success. With a superb early inscription, dated November 1921, the month of publication, to Laura Benet, authoress and sister of Stephen Vincent Benet and William Rose Benet, "with admiration," and quotation from one of Wylie's poems.

Two years later Elinor Wylie divorced her husband and married William Rose Benet, a long-time friend and literary supporter. An excellent association.
