PAINE, THOMAS. Rights of Man; Part the Second. Combining Principle and Practice. London: Printed for H.D. Symonds, 1792. 12mo. 91, [3] pp. Removed. $275.00

Gimbel 69 (parts I & II). Each part of this edition was published inexpensively (six pence each) so it would circulate widely. Paine believed that by widely disseminating Common Sense with a low price that he had, in effect, caused the American Revolution. The British government, evidently alarmed, issued a Royal Proclamation against it. Part II "fully developed his great political philosophy" (Gimbel).
