Ellison 306. Rinderknecht 48600. Woods' farewell address to the university of which he was president for seven years, which followed three years at Transylvania. With an appendix of letters and other materials relating to his resignation. According to DAB, his resignation was tendered in July, 1837, following a student rebellion apparently connected to Woods' anti-slavery views. He remained president, however, until December, and must have left shortly after this address.
