GRAHAM, JOHN A. Memoirs of John Horne Tooke...Proofs Identifying Him as the Author of the Celebrated Letters of Junius. New York: For Stephen Gould, 1828. 1st ed. 8vo. 238 pp. Orig. cloth-backed boards, printed paper label (chipped). $75.00

Shoemaker 33399.  Inscribed on the title-page by the author.  Graham, lawyer and author, was an intimate friend of Horne Tooke during the late 1790s.  See DAB.  It is said that Horne Tooke's conversational powers rivalled those of Dr. Johnson.  But at the time of his death in 1812 he had no Boswell.  Graham seems to have attempted that role here.
