ANDREWS, STEPHEN PEARL, With HORACE GREELEY & HENRY JAMES. Love, Marriage & Divorce.  Introductions by Charles Shively. With an unpublished manuscript by Andrews.  ISBN 087730-010-0. Weston, Mass: M & S Press, 1975. 1st ed. 8vo. 204 pp. Orig. cloth. $20.00

In 1852, three noted Fouerists, James, Greeley, and S. P. Andrews began an unprecedented interchange on the taboo subject of divorce and marriage in the pages of Greeley's New York Tribune.? Published in book form in 1853, the discussion was renewed in 1872 by Andrews and James.? Included in our edition is an unpublished manuscript on the "condition of women" by Andrews, evidently written in the 1850s, insisting on the right of women to control their lives and bodies.
